March Fun, Prayer And A Blog
I hate to jump around subjects in this post, but I'm short on time, and I don't have time to do them all separately. So here goes... Please pray for the Nelson family. Wayne grew up with David, and he was recently diagnosed with lymphoma...on the same day his wife found out she was pregnant with their third child. I honestly have only met him once, but I know that his family would greatly appreciate the prayers. From what I have read, their faith is unshakable!
Speaking of unshakable faith. Please check out this post. I would not put it on here if it was not one of the most incredible things I have ever read. Many of you might have already read it. I saw it on numerous blogs before I read it, and I wish I had of read it with the first. This is a girl (I think it said she is twenty) who gave up her life in the states, went into the mission field of Uganda and adopted 14 children!!! And from what I read, that number is constantly changing. It's phenomenal and very inspirational. Please check it out.
And last but not least, it is really spring. And this was past due.

18 Months
I absolutely, positively cannot believe how fast time goes by with a little one. I say this in every phase we go through, but this could quite possibly be my favorite yet! Lil man is so full of life, and we are loving every minute of it. He will carry on full "conversations" with you, if only we knew what he was saying. :) He is still obsessed with phones, as you can tell. It was the only thing at the moment we could do to calm him down! He will attempt to say anything you tell him to. He has also learned how to say I love you with actions. You can tell him to go tell Daddy that he loves him, and he will run and give his Daddy a hug, sometimes a kiss, and lots of times nose sugars. He is so stinkin cute! I wish we could catch a lot of the things he does on camera, but all he will do when the camera comes out is stare at it! He's still dancing like crazy. He will stop mid action to dance if he hears music. What a joy he is!
At our 18 month appointment, everything was looking great! He has absolutely NO fluid in his ears...PRAISE THE LORD! Hopefully we will for sure not have to get tubes later. He is 32 1/4 inches tall (75-95%), and he's 23 pounds and 12 ounces (25-50%). Do you know how crazy that is? He's always been off the charts!! Dr. Walley told me early on that his weight would slow down drastically after he turned one, and he knew what he was talking about! He is still in the same size clothes he was in last summer!! YAY! :) And on a last note, he got his last shots until he's five! He didn't take them as well as he normally does this time, so I'm even more thankful that we have years before he gets more, not just months!
Being a parent is the most precious gift God has to offer, and we cannot thank Him enough for this amazing blessing!

Since Then
Oh my, do I have so many things I have wanted to post about! We've been a little under the weather here at the Peoples house. I've had horrible allergy issues, and Wayne and Jacob have had a bad cold. We've even had to give him two breathing treatments a day, which he still hates! There is no way I would ever catch up if I did separate posts for all of this, so here goes...
I'll start with a video. It's been a while since I've posted one of these. You will hear Wayne and I doing this ridiculous laugh in the background, and Jacob would never do it for us! He does this all the time, and everyone thinks it's hilarious. We can just never catch it on camera. He's camera shy! :) So, this is what you get when Yo Gabba Gabba is on in the background. (Have I mentioned that I hate that show?!?! We decided very early on that we would never introduce him to Barney, more for Wayne's sake than mine. Little did we know, there is a man in an orange suit that is much, much scarier than the purple dinosaur!)
On to another quick subject.. at eighteen months old (unbelievable), we have TWELVE teeth! Four of which are molars!
And we are very, very independent when it comes to eating, or at least he really, really wants to be!
We like to play "dress up." Wayne doesn't like me calling it that, but he wears his daddy's hats all day, loves to play with his belts and will put on anybody's shoes! We need to get him some of the boy dress up clothes. I think they make firemen and superman outfits! :) Here he is checking himself out in the mirror after he put his daddy's hat on!
Last weekend, after church, we went down to the creek at my in laws' house to snap a few pics. Wayne surprised me with a new lens (!!!), and I wanted some practice on it before my shoot this weekend. These are not his 18 month portraits. In fact, the lighting was horrible because it was so dark, but there were a few cute ones. He loves Allie girl, and boy do we miss her. If she'd only stay in that fence...
And last but not least, this is what I did yesterday. Isn't she adorable? Many more coming soon!

The Commercial and Swinging :)
When we got there, he was so fired up to be outside! Oh, how we have enjoyed this warm weather!
Unfortunately, because of it being so gorgeous outside, he had NO intentions of being still for the filming of a commercial. No matter how much we love Denise. :)
Can you guess who they are looking at????
We tried this.....
and this....
Denise even did this. I doubt this one will hit the big television! :)
And then this young man decided to give it a try...
Then, they all changed into t-shirts Denise had made. You think it was a little big? This was the smallest size that it came in!
And then...you guessed it. He did this...
If you don't get anything else out of this post, please, please, please, if you are a Jefferson County resident, vote for Denise Pomeroy for Circuit Judge in the following election. She is a wonderful, Christian woman, and she will serve our county well. And I know she would appreciate the vote. And this little guy would too. I mean come on, she won his heart with a free t-shirt. :)
On a TOTALLY different note, we finally hung our swing. We have had this since last summer and could never find anywhere to hang it. We finally got creative and practically butchered a tree so we could hang it. This is what lil man does when the swinging stops.
I know this picture is blurry, but man does he look like his daddy! I will have to scan a pic of Wayne at this age sometime. It is incredible.
Now, on to more swinging! :)

Like Father, Like Son
My sweet little boy LOVES his "Da Dee"! You should see him when Wayne comes in from work. He hears the keys and runs straight to the back door, breathing really heavy, with the cutest little smile on his face, anxiously awaiting for his "Da Dee" to open the door! This is truly the highlight of my day. How thankful I am that Jacob has a "Da Dee" that loves him so much and looks just as forward to seeing him when he comes home!
Let me give you a little background about my husband. He loves the Lord. He loves his family. He loves the country. He loves to hunt. He loves to fish. Enough said. Well, little man has picked up on liking fishing poles. When we are outside, he has one that Wayne doesn't use anymore that he just loves to play with (believe me, it's been a very long time since this pole has had a hook on it). He even mimics Wayne casting it. I think we might have a fisherman on our hands. He's even entertained when there is no water around! :)
I can imagine there will be many fishing trips in his future. Wayne already talks about the father/son trips he wants to take lil man on. Oh how I wish everyone could have such a "Da Dee!"
Play Date # 3,000
Today, we went to the church playground. We met up with the Parks twins. They are some of my favorite play date buddies. Jacob has a blast with them, and Robin and I can talk each other's ears off! :) Nothing is better than a chat in person with a full grown adult!
I like going to the church playground because it's fenced in. I don't have to worry constantly if he could get away from me. I'm telling you, this booger is fast!
Of course, his all time favorite thing to do is swing. He was so sweet, saying "weeeee" the whole time!
Check out his new trick. He scared me to death on these slides! I think my heart dropped 100 times today. Don't worry though, I was right at him the whole time, but is he seriously this big now??? How time flies!
The twins are almost exactly a year older than Jacob, and I just can't get enough of them! When they would try something new they would say, "Hey Jacob, watch me!" It was absolutely adorable!
I can't until next time...
