Thanksgiving night, we decided to brave putting him in his crib. It was not as bad as we predicted! He did pretty good. He woke up once, and then finished the night in his crib! I mentioned before that he was sleeping through the night, but that was short lived! It will happen one day though! :)

Thankful for More Than the Turkey
"Give thanks to the Lord, call on His name; make known among the nations what He has done."
Psalm 105:1
We had the community wide Thanksgiving service at our church last night. We had a wonderful time with some good ole soul preachin' (if you know what I mean)! :) As the preacher was talking about how we should be thankful for everything, my mind started racing with everything I have to be thankful for. (These are just a few. I'd be here all day if I tried to list everything.)
We sang a song last night about thanking Jesus for the cross. For this, saying thank you just doesn't seem to be good enough. The cross was such a selfless sacrifice that saved us from eternal damnation.
I am thankful for my husband. He is so perfect for me. Throughout the years, God used life experiences that molded us specifically for each other. I love him more than words could ever say. I am thankful for our loving and trusting relationship. I am thankful that he works so hard to support me and Jacob so I can stay at home with him. This means so much to me! I am thankful that he is the spiritual leader in our household. I pray that we have many years together in this world.
I have never received a gift as perfect as our son. Jman means the world to us. When he was first born, I was so nervous! It was really insane. I have never been nervous with babies, but everything about this little bundle made me shake....literally! Sherri Sexton was at our house one night the week after he was born, and I confided in her just how nervous I was. I was always making sure he was still breathing, and driving us all crazy while doing so! Sherri told me one night that every time I get scared or nervous, I should just stop and thank God for our precious boy! I have done this ever since, and I am not a nervous wreck anymore! I cannot thank God enough for our little man!
My husband and I have wonderful families! I am so thankful for our parents, siblings, grandparents....so on and so on. We have so many people that love us so much and would do anything for us. We love you all! You each have a special place in our hearts!
During the service, I was sitting next to a dear friend of mine. A couple of weeks ago, she got some horrible news from the doctor. She had a spot on her bone, and they were sure it was cancer. They point blank told her and her husband that it wasn't good. She had surgery Friday, and they now are really positive about the entire thing. The official results have not come in, but what they once thought was cancer, they now think was some kind of cyst. Praise God! I could not be happier for her! I am so thankful she will have many more years with her husband and her precious little girl!
Since I haven't done this before, I am going to take a moment to brag on our church family! I don't know what we would do without them! They are always there for us! When we had lil man (I had a horrible delivery...refer back to my very first post), for a solid week, we had dinner brought to us every single night! What a blessing! My mom was in town to help out, and it was wonderful that she was able to focus on helping me and getting to know her new grandson! Thank you all very much! I cannot thank you enough.
We have so much to be thankful for. Down to the fact that we have a house to live in and food on the table every night. Many people don't have this. All I can do is thank God for everything He has given so freely to us. Like I have said before, he is constantly blessing us more than we deserve!

Another eventful weekend!
Man! It doesn't seem like we ever stop now days! Our favorite thing to do on the weekends is to enjoy each other laying around the house! That has not happened very much the last few months! This weekend was completely worth it though....Katie got married! I'm so happy for them. Here are a few pictures from the Anderson / Mundie wedding....

Katie got married on a very special day...my birthday! Since my family didn't get to celebrate on Saturday for obvious reasons, we did on Sunday. After church, we went out to eat, and then took Jman to see Santa at Bass Pro! We had to wake him up to put him on Santa's lap, but we had a good time! I'm so thankful for my sweet little family! Here's our first Christmas pictures...

Oh, and just one more little update! HE SLEEPS!!!!!! For almost a week, we have had 8 straight hours of sleep every night! Whew! This is nice!

Fallin' Peoples
Mrs. Mollie has wanted us all to get together for some family pictures for a while now. The one day we could all come together, the sun was not cooperating! The only time we could do it was in the middle of the day, and the sun was so bright, but we did our best! Here are a few pics from our day.....

2 months old!!
Bless his little heart. If only that lasted! He had a hard time last night. We couldn't touch his legs without him screaming, and he had a low grade fever from the shots. He was having a tough time! This absolutely broke my heart. It literally almost brought me to tears! I can't stand the thought of him hurting!
Baby Boy wasn't the only one to get shots yesterday! So did Daddy! Sweetheart has been getting sick for over a week now, and it was a lot worse this weekend. We didn't even make it to church Sunday! He finally went to the doctor yesterday (I demanded his hard head to go :) ), and he has a sinus infection. He got two shots, and some antibiotics! I had two babies to tend to last night! :)
Well, this rough night had a pretty good ending! I think Baby Boy just cried himself to exhaustion! He slept for 8 hours last night!!! I couldn't believe it! I don't want to get my hopes up, but maybe we're getting ready to sleep through the night! I will definitely keep you updated on that. In the meantime...we're still working on getting him to laugh more! I can't wait to be able to share this with you all!
On the Road Again!
We had yet another weekend on the road! I committed to lots of things before I had Jman, and now I feel horrible for having him on the go all the time! I'm in a wedding in two weeks, and after that...we're at home until Christmas!
Saturday, we had Katie Anderson's lingerie shower! I must say, it was a lot of fun! She got a lot of nice things, and I had such a good time visiting with her while I could! I can't believe she's getting married in less than 2 weeks! I am so happy for them!
Since we were in town, I could not leave without introducing Katie L. Grizzle (I'm still not use to that yet) to my baby! We had a good time visiting with Katie and Cory, and we can't wait to see them again!

He LAUGHS!!!
A couple of days ago, I was rocking Jman to sleep. All of a sudden he opened his eyes wide open, and let out the loudest laugh! It was absolutely hilarious! I don't have a clue as to what he was laughing at, but it was the sweetest sound I have ever heard! It took me a moment to realize what he had done. It totally caught me by surprise! Sweetheart and I are constantly trying to get him to laugh, and he finally does it when we aren't trying. The sad thing is, Sweetheart was at work. We have tried so hard since then to get him to do it again, and we have had no luck! As soon as he does it more often, I will be sure to post a video of it! We're still more amazed every single day by this wonderful gift God has given us!

The Infamous Halloween Wedding
About a month ago, Sweetheart and I were on our way home from Jman's doctor's appointment, and my friend Katie called me. When I answer the phone, she was all giddy and screamed "GUESS WHAT!" I would have never guessed what came next. She informed me that she was getting married on Halloween which was 6 weeks away. My initial thought was that she was insane! Sweetheart and I started laughing hysterically! She continues to clue us in that she was going to be the Corpse Bride, Cory was going to be the Corpse Groom, the bridesmaids would be witches and the groomsmen would be vampires. Sweetheart made the decision right then that he would be The Bear since he was dead too! I talked to Katie for a long time this day, and made sure this was really what she wanted. She was so excited, I couldn't wait to join in on the fun! No, this is not your typical wedding, and no, most people would not have a Halloween wedding, but it was GREAT! It was just what Katie wanted, and everyone had a blast!
After the wedding, and the dances, we all went to change. This is when the corpses, witches and vampires arose! The reception was a big Halloween party!

Once her corpse outfit came in, she decided she had to have a real dress! THANK GOD!!! So, the wedding ended up being beautiful! She was gorgeous, Cory looked great and the attendants were all in black! It was really pretty, in a Halloween sort of way! There were Halloween decorations throughout, smoke came from under the stage during the ceremony, and there were more candles than you could count. It was truly a wedding to remember!

Back From the Dead....

Thank you Katie and Cory for letting us be part of your special day! It was absolutely a blast! I wish you a lifetime of happiness! Love you!

What a Weekend!
I was in a wedding on Friday night (yes on Halloween...it deserves a post of it's own!), so Pumpkin got to go to Nana and Pappy's for the first time! We had such a great time!
Every time I get together with my mom, we play "dolls" (as she calls it) with Lil Man! We take lots of pictures!

On Sunday, we got to go to Pappy's church for the first time! Lil Man woke up when Pappy started preaching, and stayed awake the entire time! Nana and Pappy had such a good time showing him off, and Pappy was really proud that the first sermon he stayed awake for was his! He wanted to be sure that I told Br. Kevin that!

Sunday afternoon, we took Lil Man to my Memaw's for the first time. We ended up having 5 generations of Allen's there! Lil Man was also able to meet his Great-great Grandma!
Bless his little heart! This was a lot in one weekend, and I know he was ready to be home!

Lil Man's First Portraits
I have not seen all of his portraits, but here is a sneak peek of what I have seen so far. Sherri Sexton did a great job! I highly recommend her! She was so patient with our little man, and I can't wait to see the rest! Just beautiful, if I say so myself!
