Such a Strong Little Man!

Jman has been holding his head up on his own since the night he was born, but he's getting a lot better at it. He has some strong neck muscles!

He's all worn out! This is definitely hard work!

He SMILES.....

and it's not just gas! For the past week lil man has been trying so hard to smile, and he finally did it Sunday morning! I was getting ready for church, and Sweetheart started yelling at me to come here, and this is what I found! Lil man was smiling at his Daddy tickling him!

Jman's First Football Game

On Saturday, Jman got to experience his first football game. We went to his cousin, Logan's, Homecoming game where they won 20-0! We had a blast!

Oh What a Night!

We had such a wonderful night last night! To start it off, we had our one month pictures made by Sherri Sexton (aka GiGi)! I can't wait to get them back! I was very impressed with her work, and I know you will be too! I will post them as soon as I get them back! I'm so thankful for these sweet pictures!

Then, I couldn't believe what happened next....Jman did not fuss one time last night! For those of you who have never had a baby with colic, THIS IS AMAZING! As I mentioned before, the doctor gave us several steps to try, and we are on the step that included another formula change. We are literally on the most expensive formula you can buy. The doctor's exact words were, "If you have the most expensive formula on the shelf in your hand, then you have the right one!" Well, he wasn't kidding. It's about double the cost! At first, we were not for sure if it made a difference or not, but now I'm convinced! I don't even care how much it costs, it made my baby happy! So far anyway. I just pray it keeps going this way!

Many Firsts in One Day...

Yesterday was a very busy day for our little man. He did so many things for the first time! We started the morning off by going to church for the first time (where he wore shoes for the first time)! It was also his first sermon to sleep through!
While we were at church, he met his future buddy, Braegan, for the first time. I love this picture! They were so focused on one another! I would love to know what they were thinking! After church, we headed over to Mammaw and Pappaw's house for the first time. I just had to take a few pictures of him and his cousins, Logan and Heather!
We finished off the day by going to Trade Days for the first time at Tannehill. All of the campers were there with their decorations for Halloween. We had a good time, but J slept through the entire thing!
All in all, we had a wonderful family day! The perfect beautiful Sunday!

Unbelievable!

I was checking my e-mail this morning on aol, and I saw this about Reba. I have always been a fan of this woman, and I even loved her show. I absolutely cannot believe this!!

Although Reba McEntire fears that fellow Christians might criticize her for it, the singer says she believes she's been reincarnated. "I believe I've gone both ways -- that I have been here before as a man," the 53-year-old (in this life, anyway) tells the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "I believe I have spent time with my son Shelby before. I believe I have spent time with other people in my life before. Who knows? Maybe I'm part Buddhist." As for reconciling her Christian faith with her belief in reincarnation, McEntire says, "I'm sorry, but this is how I live my life, this is what I believe."

Jacob's "cooing!"

So, up until the last couple of days the only way this child knew how to use his vocals was to scream! Now, he's letting out the sweetest sounds that are music to our ears. We'll be sitting around in silence, and all of a sudden hear, "AH!" It is absolutely precious.
Another new thing he's discovered is his tongue, and he's constantly sticking it out. W really gets a kick out of this one!
Yes, I have become one of those annoying parents that thinks every little thing their child does is incredible....deal with it. :)

Not Happy

Our poor little man...he's so miserable! This is what he looks like more often than I like to admit. He has severe colic, and we have tried everything. The doctor's office almost knows my voice by heart when I call! We had an appointment yesterday, and his pediatrician gave me several steps to try, but he said unfortunately it will probably just have to work it's course. He said by the time he's three months, he should be a totally different baby. It's so hard because he didn't cry at all in the beginning, and now that he does, there is nothing I can do for him. Needless to say, we are having many sleepless nights! Sweetheart and I are both walking zombies! If you think about it, please say a prayer for our sweet little man!

On a more positive note...he's 5 weeks old and weighs 12 pounds and 4 ounces! He is literally the size of a 4 month old! I love this kid!

Our Gift From Above

So much is going on in our life right now! With a newborn things change daily, so this is a way to be sure family and friends can keep up with this little guy.
Our life completely changed on September 9, 2008. That was SUCH a long day! I'll try to give you a shortened overview of our day.... I was induced, in labor for 12 hours, pushed an hour, my blood pressure dropped drastically, they had to turn my epidural OFF, pushed another hour, made no progress, rushed to cesarean, epidural turned back on, felt the doctor cut me open (epidural didn't work), was knocked out, J was born at 6:28 P.M., and finally I was consciously aware that I had a son at 7:50 P.M. NOT exactly how I had anticipated having a child, but (I know I sound crazy) I would do it all over again! I feel as though I love him more and more every day!
It's been five weeks now, and we cannot get enough of this little man....and neither can the grandparents! They are actually the main reason I started this. I hope it's able to keep you informed. Just bare with me. I'm new at this, and I haven't quite figured everything out yet!
