BEFORE AND AFTER

Most of you know Wayne and I bought a house right before we got married that we were planning on flipping. I LOVE remodeling! It has been so much fun over the last couple of years, and it's continually changing. In fact, after taking a long break, we're about to start at it again. Yep, we're staying! We actually almost had a contract on it this week, and I got emotional. It fell through, and I decided I wanted to stay here for quite a while longer. Of course Wayne is ok with that. :) I enjoy the remodeling more than he does, but we both like the finish product. So, our house dilemma is resolved. We plan to stay for about 10 more years (hopefully we can have it close to being paid off by then....what a feeling that would be!), and then we are going to build exactly what we want. Then I plan to never move again! On with the pictures...I'll try to explain with each one what we plan on doing.

First off is the kitchen. Our house was built in 1969, and it still had the ORIGINAL wall paper! It was hideous...
We had to do some rearranging of the dishwasher (thanks to my handy man Daddy), put a fridge back where it was made to go, paint, scrub the cabinets like crazy, get a rid of a window that was looking at the back of a wall (our house was added on to), and much much more. Here's the after pictures...We're planning to paint (again) get bamboo blinds, new floors, redo the cabinets, new stove and range hood, and new lights for above the table. I'm sure I'll think of more when we start.

These next pictures are the back entrance. Remember the add on I spoke of? They obviously did a horrible job paying attention to detail. That, or they loved the random brick wall inside their house. Well, we painted it.

Our bathroom was a total mess too! Thanks to my brother (we are so thankful to our parents and families who helped us in the beginning. We could not have moved into this house in 5 weeks without you!), all the wallpaper was ripped out of there too. We're about to totally redo the bath too. The only things that will stay are the paint color, tub and toilet. :)

The "skinny room" came next. It got this name through this process because it is just that...long and skinny. Here's before and after of it. The next step to this is to turn this room into a master suite. It's on the opposite end of the house than the other two bedrooms, and I would rather us be separate than one of our children (when the other one enters the picture).

The next room was obviously a child's room, but we definitely did some changing to make it our little boy's room. The only thing that will be done to this room in the near future is a little closet organization. :)

The next room is currently ours, but it will soon be the guest room, and eventually a second child's room. (I guess our guests will sleep in the garage.)

Our Living Room looked just as bad as the rest of the house, with a really weird heater in the middle of the wall. If you look in the after pic, the heater was where the piano is now. We're pretty much done with this room except for maybe making the large window into a bay????

These next two are before and after of our outside. We haven't done a ton YET! Hopefully, we'll have more of a cottage looking home when this is all said and done.

So, there you have it. A tour of our home...a work in progress! If you are as addicted to remodeling as I am, check out this website:

I came across it, and love it! This might bore some of you to death, but I know some of you are in the same boat as me. I love seeing other's before and after shots. Plus, knowing that I have now announced all the work we will be doing on the internet, I know I will get to work!!
