Well, a lot around here! Jacob has moved up to a big boy bed...
Of course, we had to since Grant is coming along. :) Also, we were kinda hoping it would make him want to sleep in his own bed instead of ours. And so far, so good! He loves it! He practically picked out his bedding (which has every sport on it), and he's constantly wanting on his "piwow". I'll post more pics when we are finished with the room. We are still trying to redo a toy box my dad made for me when I was little, and Dad is also going to build him a bookshelf. When I was pregnant with Jacob, Dad built our crib! Now that it's being passed to Grant, he wanted to make something for Jacob's room. All kiddos need a bookshelf, I think. I can't wait to see it when it's done.
A friend who knows just how much Jacob loves anything related to ball gave him this.
Does he not look like a little bobble head? He asks for me to put this huge helmet on him all the time!
There for a few days last weekend and the beginning of this week, he wasn't asking for too much of anything. He was one sick little boy. In reality, it was just a bad cold, but Jacob has Reactive Airways Disease, which basically means he wheezes when he gets sick. :( But not if we do this first: (and let me say, he wanted to hold it himself and was really a big boy with it compared to last year!)
Funny thing was we had a well visit with his asthma doctor last week, and I was able to tell him he had been completely well since before Christmas last year. He got the sniffles that night. :( We then had to go to our 2 year check up with our pediatrician, and he told us we could give him Triaminic. PTL! We can finally give the kid something besides Motrin or Tylenol! It helped a lot, and he is now completely better! He never even wheezed!
While we were at the pediatrician, I discussed potty training with him. For those that know me, I take the doctor's word as though it is God himself telling me to do something. :) (That one's for you Angie!) He did agree that Jacob is probably ready to potty train, but he also said he never tells people to start until the child is between 2 1/2 and 3. He said it would be MUCH easier, especially since he is already asking to go. He also told us to let him try when he asks, and to take him to the bathroom with Wayne but not jump in 100% yet. SHEW! Can I just say that this made my day? I have felt horrible with lots of people telling me I needed to potty train him, but I sorta felt like we needed to wait. Now to know that would be best takes a big burden off of me now! Who cares if I'll be changing two behinds??! And speaking of little behinds, his is growing! His height at 2 years was 34 1/2 inches (50-75%), and his weight was 27 pounds and 4 ounces (50-75%)! He's definitely getting to be a big boy! His vocabulary is growing by the minute! He now says things like "cool man", "I won eat", "I won mir (milk)", "thank you", "peeze (please)", "sir sir (yes sir)", "love you" (my fav!), and many more! We are constantly saying, "Where'd he learn that?" His current favorite is to let us know multiple times a day when he passes gas! Ha!
And now, last but definitely not least:
I am most certainly pregnant! I feel terrible because I never talk about it on here. I even momentarily forget sometimes. But, boy is that a good thing! Because that means I'M NOT SICK!!!! PRAISE THE LORD! I've actually been able to enjoy being pregnant from about 10 weeks on this time. That was definitely something I couldn't say when I was pregnant with Jacob. Lil Grant is moving around like crazy! We've been buying up on things he needs, and plan to start work on his nursery as soon as Jacob's room is done. The truth is, this pregnancy is FLYING by! We are already coming into October, which we get to look forward to Halloween. Then in November, my sister is getting married and I have a birthday. Christmas is in December. And our new baby boy will be here in January! I cannot wait to see his sweet face, and for Jacob to meet the baby he always talks to through mommy's belly!
I know this was a lot of rambling, but if nothing else, I want to remember this one day! :)
