Just Maybe...

I'll be honest. I think I have dreaded potty training since we have had Jacob. I have heard nightmares about how hard boys can be. I certainly don't want to speak so soon, but maybe Jacob won't be so hard. I decided we would start after his birthday because he was showing signs that he was ready. For example, he hides to poop :), he tells me he's dirty, and he's gone an entire night without wetting.

Well, this week, he just started asking to tee tee. So, every night after dinner we've put him on his little potty, and he has really tried but has yet to make the connection. Until last night!! Our lil man tinkled in the potty for the first time!!! I'm so proud of him! Now, I just hope when we start doing this for real that it goes that smooth! Otherwise, Wayne might have to admit me. :)

We start in two weeks. Any moms who have been here that might have advice, PLEASE share!! I've heard everything from letting them run naked to putting big boy underwear on them so they really feel when they are wet. Either way, I have a feeling I will be cleaning up lots of messes!!

I know what you mean! I'm seriously dreading this with Gideon too, but so far it's going well! We just go with the smaller toilet seat. Gideon's gone once by accident, then twice on purpose so maybe it won't be so bad. I'm just ready to get those poops in the toilet so I don't have to change those diapers anymore!

If he is ready (and it sounds like he is) it will not be that bad. Just don't sit him on the potty to tee tee, let him stand up like Wayne and it will help with the connection! (I made this mistake so that is how I know) I am a firm believer in the big boy underwear and the uncomfortable feeling approach. Good luck and play outside alot. Accidents on the ground are much easier:)
