Tonight was one of those nights that I was left wondering how in the world single mothers make it. My hat is off to them!
On a routine basis, Wayne does bath time duty. :) I'm so thankful for this little bit of a break every day. He is such a good Daddy, and Jacob loves him so much! Plus, Jacob's favorite time of the day is bath time! The kid absolutely loves water!
Well, recently, Wayne has been working 12-16 hour days on Tuesdays-Thursdays, so I thought I would try to start having everything done by the time he gets home just so we could all relax for a little bit together before hitting the sack. So, tonight after dinner I start the bath routine. (This is where it starts to get....nasty, for lack of a better word.) I have the bath water ran, and I place lil man in the tub. He is splishing and splashing like every night, and he lets a little "air" out. As always, he starts laughing (boys start thinking body movements are funny at a very young age). You can only imagine what happens next. Yep. Poop in the tub. (For the record, I think it's pretty good that this only has happened once in 14 months. And yes, I am blogging about poop!) So, I immediately get him out and start draining the....umm...water. AS SOON AS HIS FEET HIT THE FLOOR, he pees everywhere!!! I'm scrounging to find a towel. As soon as I start cleaning up the pee, he PUKES all over my lap! So, here I go cleaning up poop, pee and puke! As soon as I start on the puke, he decides to poop on the rug!!!! I'm not kidding. So, tub still draining, I'm cleaning up the poop on the rug. Keep in mind, I have a weak stomach. It hasn't bothered me much since Jacob was born, but tonight was the exception. I start to clean the tub, and I got sick. I mean real sick. Like when I was prego sick. My poor 1 year old was patting my back. It was pitiful. All of this happened in about 30 seconds. I then Lysol AND Clorox the tub and we continue on with the bath routine of the night.
Now, who says being a stay at home mom isn't work??? But I will also be the first to say, it's the best job I've ever had!
I might have just lost a few readers! :P
