(This is not the completed picture. I didn't have time to take another one! And, I know, we need a new table! That's the next thing on our list along with a china cabinet!)
I made some of his favorites for his birthday: fried pork chops (funny on fine china, huh?), English peas, mashed potatoes, creamed corn, rolls, Cesar salad and peanut butter corn flake candy for dessert! We had such a wonderful time just the two of us, but I must say, the topic of choice for the whole 2 hours was Jacob! How funny is that? He definitely has our heart!
I once read that the best thing parents can do for their children is love each other. I feel as though we have that down pat (mainly because we know you always have to work at it.) In fact, after we have our family complete, we want to renew our vows in front of our children to promise them that Mommy and Daddy will love each other until the day the good Lord takes us!
The next thing I want to work on is Dave Ramsey...

Can you imagine not having any debt at all? I can't, but we sure would like to know the feeling! Who knows, we might decide to stay in our little house for a while!

Dave Ramsey is awesome...debt is one of the main reasons Brett and I moved to Jax. When we got down here we lived with my dad, stepmom, and brother for about 8 months. It's not the most ideal living arrangemnts, but it allowed us to live rent free for those months and use almost every penny we had coming in from our jobs to pay our monthly bills, insurance, etc. as well as attack our credit card debt (i still have student loans - but they are at a very low interest rate and will get paid off later). I'm embarassed to say that we had over 18,000 in cc debt. We paid every cent off from March to August!!! Granted, a lot of that is due to us not paying rent, which is our most expensive expense, but God worked in amazing ways. We were able to save up for a down payment on my car, we moved into our own place, and we are still practicing all the ways we pinched pennies before. We have racked up a little more on our cards since moving out due to some unexpected car problems (we hadn't yet saved our emergency fund up - still working on that), but I can tell you how AWESOME it feels to make that last payment and be done with it! And it's even more amazing at how much extra money you end up with every month because it isn't going toward debt. We are working on knocking ours out again and then keeping it that way, but I definitely recommend it! Like Dave says, "live like no one else today so that you can live like no one else tomorrow". Make those sacrifices - they are well worth it and God will surely bless you guys!
Love the surprise dinner...I'm actually thinking of doing the same for Ty on our anniversary, which is coming up next month.
And let me tell you, your next pregnancy will not only be enjoyed by you and Wayne, but also by Jacob. It's so thrilling to be able to include them. To see there eyes when the baby moves and for them to talk to the baby. I loved for the girls to talk to Braegan while I was carrying him. That makes it all worth it!! Love you girl!!!
Dave Ramsey has a really cool program. Kevin and I have used the cash budgeting since right after we got married, and we spend so much less a month just by using cash. It really does make you think more when you are paying cash for things. I didn't think that it would work for me because cash was "blow money" to me before I started D.R. but it turns out that if you don't give yourself any other options except cash you spend it much more wisely. We still have credit cards for gas and emergencies(sorry Dave). I hope that you and Wayne enjoy it! Remember to use what you can at first and slowly add on more of his principles (everybody's finances are different!). It's hard to start practicing EVERYTHING all at once (even though you get really pumped up about it all)!
Glad to see the surprise dinner went well. Any left overs? I am hungry now after reading that! love you guys!
