In Honor of a Much Loved Man

"God's Farm"
God needs someone in heaven
to plow and plant the rows.
And when He calls on me,
I know that I must go.
Remember that I won't be gone -
I will just be away,
working on God's farm
'til we're united again one day.
There will be no storms in heaven
and the fields are long and straight.
When it's time for you to join me,
I'll be waiting inside heaven's gate.
Remember, until that day arrives,
when once more our lives will share,
to look in the green fields growing
and you'll see me working there.
This was the poem the family chose for PawPaw's memory book, and if you knew him, then you know that this poem fits him perfectly. I was also given the honor of putting together a scrapbook for the visitation. This is what was on the last page....
"For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing."
2 Timothy 4:6-8
Roy Peoples was loved by so many people, and he also had a heart for others. Not only did he love his family, he loved those in need. He left a legacy that will never be forgotten.
In the recent years, Roy lost his sight. As can imagine, this was quite difficult on him. Rest assured that today he can see again! John 9:25 says, "One thing I know: that though I was blind, now I see." Like the blind man in John, Roy now has restored eyes! Just think, the first face his restored eyes would see was the face of his Savior! What a sight to behold!

We will always love you PawPaw!
