Not Happy

Our poor little man...he's so miserable! This is what he looks like more often than I like to admit. He has severe colic, and we have tried everything. The doctor's office almost knows my voice by heart when I call! We had an appointment yesterday, and his pediatrician gave me several steps to try, but he said unfortunately it will probably just have to work it's course. He said by the time he's three months, he should be a totally different baby. It's so hard because he didn't cry at all in the beginning, and now that he does, there is nothing I can do for him. Needless to say, we are having many sleepless nights! Sweetheart and I are both walking zombies! If you think about it, please say a prayer for our sweet little man!

On a more positive note...he's 5 weeks old and weighs 12 pounds and 4 ounces! He is literally the size of a 4 month old! I love this kid!

Oh you poor little man... :-( I know it's not fun having him cry and you really can't do anything for him, but he will grow out of it. And your doctor is right, in a couple of months, he'll be a totally different little man. But he's still a cutie even when he's sad. :-)

Have you tried Mylicon? Layla had colic so bad for a few months...I honestly didn't know how long I could go on with her being that upset without me being able to do anything. I've learned that helplessness is one of the absolute worst feelings ever! But at one point Layla got so upset and was screaming at the top of her lungs for a few hours (like 4 or 5) and it seemed like she was in extreme pain, so we took her to the hospital where they put her in an infant hopspital gown (so sad that they even make them that size). they proceded to run a number of tests on her and xrays as well. turns out all that was wrong was that she had a ton of gas built up in her belly...their solution was mylicon (an over the counter medicine at that!). i still keep in on hand when she seems to have bell aches or gets constipated and has a lot of gas. it always makes her feel better. just a suggestion, but i'm sure someone has already mentioned it. i'll keep you all in my prayers!
